Today I'm gonna share a simple but most wanted trick for you guys. Yes, this post is about how you can setup custom (Namechep) domain on your free hosted Blogger blog like mine’s one. Simply blogger is free service from google and it is completely awesome. Also its very much comfortable for newbie who are completely new on this blogging world. And the big advantage of using Google’s blogger platform is its completely free of charge that means, you don’t have to count a few dollars in the end of every month or year. But when you create a free blog on blogger your blog address come with a .blogspot subdomain. I’m not telling that continuing a blog with sub domain (and without top level domain) is a bad idea. But if you want to look your blog more professional you should use a custom/top lavel domain. You used google free blogging services but in this section you have to count a few dollar (about $10) for your personal top level custom domain. Yes you have to buy a top level domain (the extension is .com/.net/.info/.biz etc) from any of domain registering company. You will find a tons of site on the internet to register your domain but I’m giving you the most usage name of few company and it is godaddy.com , namecheap.com , smallbusiness.yahoo.com , register.com etc. I love namecheap the most and my current domain is also bought from there. I also have a another domain from godaddy so I’m not telling that godaddy is bad, actually its my personal opinion to chose namecheap. :)
You will find that buying a domain isn’t a big deal when you landed on the register site. Simply chose your name and extension and fill up a small form about you and your address. Finally paid the charge and you have bought your own domain. But the main part of using a custom domain is, setup the domain on your blog. And I’m pretty much sure that some newbies will find this part as a hassle thing. So today I’m gonna see you how you can setup your namecheap domain on your blogger blog. I’ll share the trick step by step with screenshot so you can completely understand what you have to do and what you gonna do. Let’s start…

I’ll share the trick step by step with screenshot so you can completely understand what you have to do and what you gonna do. Let’s start…
- Login to your blogger account. Go to the basic settings option from blogger settings tab. Now from the publishing section click on the “+Setup a 3rd party URL for your blog”
- After clicking on that option a blank box will appear enter your custom domain address (that you bought previously from namecheap) in the box of course with www. After that click on the orange color save button. Here you will see a error message like the screenshot below.
- Now login to your namecheap account, go to domain list option and here you will see the list of your domain list. Click on your desired domain name that you want to use for your blog.
- After that click on the “All Host Records” option from the left side menu of your domain option.
- Heres the game begun. After clicking on the all host records option the DNS settings option will appear. Now fill that option as you can see the screenshot below (case sensitive). Only you have to input your own blog’s CNAME data in the field where I marked with a red arrow. And you will find that CNAME data on the error page of your blog. I’m talking about the error that you found on step 2. [click on the image to see the larger size]
- For your better understanding I’m giving you the below screenshot. [click on the image to see the larger size]
- After seeing the screenshot I think you don’t have any confusion about that CNAME data and I also think you have filled up the all required field as I shown on the screenshot of step 5. If you are done then click on the “Save Changes” button.
- Now again come back to your blog’s settings, where you left the page with a error message. And click the orange “Save” button again. I hope you will not see any error this time (If everything goes well).
- Now you will see your custom domain name above the blog’s original URL. Click the “Edit” option from the right side of your custom URL.
- Tick on “Redirect http://yourdomain to www.yourdomain.com” and for the last time click the save button.
